Sara prepares a surprise for her wife Katarina’s birthday svenska nätcasinon with the help of their daughter Johanna and their friend Fredrik. But on this early summer sverigekronan day, Katarina has something to tell her. Sara must handle the unexpected news while taking care of the birthday party. Her joy is mixed with growing feelings of isolation and frustration. With the help of Johanna she is able to find her true feelings.

Best short film from The Youth Jury at the Kinema film school at the Bilbao gay and lesbian Film festival, Spain, with the motivation:
”The film shows how the innocence of a child many times can solve the problems with which grownups often struggle. It does not matter whether the family structure is male-male, female-female or male-female, because we all have the same problems, the same disagreements, sex doesn't
matter, we are a family"

Golden Lion

October 2010: Birthday won bronze at the Golden Lion Awards, Taipei, Taiwan  with the statement: “This film interprets the defnition of 'adult' and 'child' in a new way, which is very critical. The cinema technique is matured, it shows its’ elegant and exquisite touches in all aspects”.

Polish FIlmfestival

May 2010: Birthday got the Grand Prix for Best Film "for outstanding precision of the story and universal meaning" at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, Poland.
